Overview
Vibes'n'Feels is an emotion map app that ties a fresh camera photo or a short video to a nearby place and a feeling, so moments can be found again by location and emotion. It is aimed at adults who want a private, low-pressure record of how a spot felt on a given day, with the option to share that moment briefly with friends or the wider community. The app is in private testing on iOS and Android.
Key Features
- Fresh capture only. Every Vibe starts with the device camera. A photo or a video of up to 20 seconds is taken on the spot, and gallery imports are not accepted, which keeps each entry tied to the present moment.
- Six emotional spectra. Rather than free text, the app offers joy, love, anger, sadness, discomfort and surprise as starting points, each refined with a more precise emoji such as ๐, ๐ or ๐ง. An optional note can add context.
- Place pin within 250 metres. Location access is mandatory, and the pin can be dragged inside a circle around the detected position. After capture the app checks that the user is still nearby, and significant movement means updating the place and capturing again. There is no background location tracking.
- Three audience levels. A Vibe can stay Personal and live only on the device, go to Friends for 3 days, or reach Everyone on the public map for 24 hours. Public photos and videos pass a safety check before they appear.
- Feels instead of likes. A Feel is a small response to one live shared Vibe. The total stays visible, but supporter identities are not shown publicly, and Feels never change discovery or ranking.
- Discuss threads with an expiry date. Conversations attach to a single live Vibe and close when it expires. There are no direct messages, no follower counts and no public profile histories.
- Privacy handling and sync. Camera originals are not uploaded. Sharing and sync use a processed JPEG or an MP4 with a JPEG poster, videos can be checked through sampled frames and speech, and a confirmed account syncs up to 1 GB of its newest eligible Vibes.
Use Cases
A cyclist riding home through Berlin can pause at the river path, take one photo, pin it to that exact stretch, mark it under the Joy spectrum and keep the Vibe Personal. Weeks later the map still shows where that easy hour happened, with no caption, no follower count and no audience to perform for.
A small group travelling through Tokyo could share a shrine garden photo under Surprise with Friends only, then talk about it in the Discuss thread attached to that Vibe. The thread closes when the Vibe expires after three days, so the conversation stays inside the moment instead of becoming a permanent feed.
What sets it apart is mandatory fresh capture, expiring audiences and a map-first layout. Vibes'n'Feels treats a social app as a memory tool rather than a stage.
